Barracuda SPAM Settings & Scoring

To access settings, click on the Preferences button. You will see your Whitelist/Blacklist tab.

You can type a specific email address or domain name (follows the @) to always receive email sent from this address in the Allowed Email Addresses and Domains (Whitelist) section. Press the Add button and the address will be added to your whitelist.

You can type a specific email address or domain name (follows the @) to always block email sent from this address in the Blocked Email Addresses and Domains (Blacklist) section. Press the Add button and the address will be added to your blacklist.

Press the SPAM Settings tab to view and modify, if necessary, the SPAM scoring settings.

The default system settings, as shown above, deliver most mail to the Inbox and quarantine or block only the highest probability spam. The default settings are set at (Tag: 10 (off) / Quarantine 2.1 / Block 9.0) as shown above.

The subject line of mail scored within the Tag setting is appended with "[Possible Spam]" and delivered to the Junk E-mail folder (deleted after 14 days). This setting is not used by default. Mail scored within the Quarantine setting is available at http://spam.mail.ufl.edu and can be delivered or deleted as desired. Mail scored within the Block setting is not delivered to either the Quarantine or mailbox.

High mail flow users

The default settings are the system standard settings which may not be acceptable to a person who experiences high mail flow. The UF Exchange Team recommends using the following configurations for high mail flow users.

Tag: 2.1 / Quarantine: 2.5 / Block: 3.5 The user can modify their SPAM scoring, by completing the following steps.
