E-mail Configuration for Entourage (Mac OS 10.4)
Required: An E-mail account should aready be created on the Exchange Server, a wired Internet connection on campus or VPN with ufw.
Basic settings: mail.ufl.edu for the incoming and outgoing server address
Step 1:
Click on Toolsand then Accounts
Step 2:
When the Accounts screen opens, click the down arrow next to New and select
Exchange.
Step 3:
The Account setup assistang will open
Step 4:
Enter the email address for Exchange (i.e.: gatorjoe@ufl.edu)
Check the box that says 'My account is on an Exchange Server'
Enter userid (i.e.: gatorjoe)
Enter the Domain for Exchange
Enter your password
Once finished, click the Purple arrow in the bottom of hte page to go to Step 2
Step 5:
Your Exchange account will then try to configure (but will fail) and you will get an Automatic Configuration Failed error page. Click the purple arrow and proceed to Step 4.
Step 6:
You will now be prompted to complete your account setup with the Account Setup Assistant, verify all your information on the top part of the Account Setup Assistant. You may save your password in Entourage, but it is not recommended.
Step 7:
You will now
need to enter the Exchange and LDAP server settings into the Account Setup Assistant:
In the Domain field enter ad.ufl.edu
In the Exchange Server field enter https://mail.ufl.edu
Check the box that says Use SSL for these servers
Once all the information has been verified, click the purple arrow to proceed to Step 5
Step 8:
You will now need to verify your account settings. In the Account Setup Assistant: Verify Settings you will need to Click on the box that says Verify My Settings
Step 9:
If you have properly setup your account in the text box, the message Your account settings have been successfully verified, will populate. Click the purple arrow to proceed to Step 6.
Step 10:
Your final set will be to give your account a name. It will default to ufl and it is recommended that you keep it as the default.
Once you have verified this, click the Finish button and your account will sync with the Exchange server.
