E-mail Configuration for Evolution (Ubuntu)


Required: An E-mail account should aready be created on the Exchange Server, a wired Internet connection on campus or VPN with ufw.

Basic settings: mail.ufl.edu for the incoming and outgoing server address

Step 1:
Open Evolution - the Setup Assistant will open. Click Forward

Step 2:
The user will then be asked if they want to restore from a previous account. Click Forward.

Step 3:
The user will then be prompted to add a their name as they would like for it to appear in sent emails and the email address. Click Forward

Step 4:
The user will now need to select the exchange server. Click Microsoft Exchange for the Server type, enter your username, the OWA URL https://mail.ufl.edu/exchange and then Click Forward

Step 5:

The user will now need to enter their password. Evolution will give the option to remember it. Click OK

Step 6:
You will then see the personal options for how Evolution will behave.

Step 7:

The next screen will ask the client for the name of the account, this is a local name and should have no effect on the connection. Click Forward

Step 8:
The next step you must enter your appropriate the time zone. Click Forward

Step 9:
The final screen will apear. Click on Apply so that Evolution may complete the configuration of your Exchange account.
