Outlook Anywhere - Without VPN (RPC over HTTP)
Step 1:
Open Outlook 2007 - Outlook 2007 Startup will open. Click Next
Step 2:
The user will then be asked if they want to configure an email account. Click Yes and then click Next.
Step 3:
The user will then be prompted to add a new email account, Do not enter information in the boxes above. (Slide 1)Click “Manually Configure server settings or additional server types” This will “grey out” all the other options.(Slide 2) Click Next
Step 4:
The user will now need to select the email server. Click Microsoft Exchange and then Click Next
Step 5:
The next step will require you to log onto mail.ufl.edu and get your UF Exchange server address. Note: Please use Internet Explorer 6 or 7 for this next step.
Step 6:
Go to mail.ufl.edu and click the "Outlook web Access" icon
Step 7:
You will now need to log into your UF Exchange Email
Step 8:
Within your UF Exchange Webmail, look to the top right hand corner of the screen and click on your Options button.

Step 9:
Then on the left hand side of the page click About![]()
Step 10:
When you are in the “About Outlook Web Access” menu you will need to locate your Mailbox Server Name. Example: UFEXCH-MBXCL01.ad.ufl.edu
Step 11:
Now you will continue configuring your Outlook 2007 client for Outlook Anywhere.
Step 12:
Enter the “Mailbox server name” along with your username in the final Add E-mail window and click More Settings once you have entered bot
Step 14:
Within the More Settings window, click on the Connection Tab
Step 15:
Within the Connection Tab, go to the bottom and click on the box in the “Outlook Anywhere” section that is titled “Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP”. Once checked, click Exchange Proxy Settings…
Step 16:
Within the Exchange Proxy Settings menu, enter the following:
Connection Settings (Red Box, 1st Box): mail.ufl.edu
Only Connect to proxy (Blue Box, 2nd Box): msstd:mail.ufl.edu
On fast networks(Green Box, 3rd Box): make sure it is checked
Proxy Authentication settings(Orange Box, 4th Box): Basic Authentication
Once completed click OK
Step 17:
You will need to specify the network that you would like to connect to. Enter UFAD\username and your password. Once completed, click OK.
Step 18:
Once the information is verified, click Next and your setup will be complete.
