E-mail Configuration for Outlook Express
Required: An E-mail account should aready be created on the Exchange Server, a wired Internet connection on campus or VPN with ufw.
Basic settings: mail.ufl.edu for the incoming and outgoing server address
Step 1:
Open Outlook Express - Click on Tools & then Accounts.
Step 2:
The user will then be prompted to enter their name. After typing it in, if it's not filled in automatically, click Next.
Step 3:
The user will need to enter their email address, then click Next
Step 4:
The client will now have to enter their username and password.
Step 5:
The client then needs to configure the incoming mail server to IMAP. The IMAP address imap.mail.ufl.edu. The SMTP server smtp.mail.ufl.edu
Step 6:
Once you have completed the Internet Connection Wizard, click on your accounts Properties Settings. Under the Servers tab, ensure that you select My Server Requires Authentication
Step 7:
Finally, under the Advanced tab, ensure that the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is set to port 25 and that the Incoming mail (IMAP) port is set to 993.
