Adding an Outlook Rule to Move Messages to the Junk E-Mail Folder Based on SCL Score
In order to move messages to your junk folder based on SCL Scoring, you must add an outlook rule. To do so you must follow the steps listed below:
Within the Outlook Console:
- Select: Tools > Rules & Alerts

Within the Rules & Alerts Window:
- Select: New Rule

Within the Rules Wizard Window:
- Select: Check messages when they arrive
- Click: Next

Within the Rules Wizard Window:
- Check: With specific words in the message header
- Select: Specific words

Within the window labeled “Specify a word or phrase to search for in a message header” enter the following lines one at a time:
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 5
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 6
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 7
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 8
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 9
- Click: OK

Within the Rules Wizard Window:
- Check: Move it to the specified order
- Select: Specified Folder
- Click: Next

- Select the Folder: Junk E-mail
- Click:OK

Within the Rules Wizard Window:
The new rule will be displayed in Step 2: Rule Description
- Click: 'Next' twice
There are no exceptions to this rule

Within the Rules Wizard Window:
- Step 1: Specify a name for this rule
- Example: SCL – Junk Email Folder Rule
- Click: Finish

Within the Rules and Alerts Window:
The new rule will be displayed as the name you gave it. Make sure the check box is checked.
- Example: SCL – Junk Email Folder Rule
- Click: Apply
- Click: Ok
