Standard Software Settings
Below you will find a list of software configuration settings and supported Exchange protocols.
Supported Protocols
- MAPI - Outlook client connections to an Exchange mailbox sever (MBX).
- IMAPS - Windows Mail, Outlook Express, Thunderbird secure inbound email client connections to an Exchange Client Access Server (CAS).
- SMTPS - Windows Mail, Outlook Express, Thunderbird secure outbound email client connections to an Exchange Client Access Server (CAS).
- Outlook Web Access (OWA) - Browser based email connections to an Exchange Client Access Server (CAS).
- Outlook Anywhere (RPC/HTTP) - Outlook client connections to an Exchange Client Access Server (CAS) for secure remote access without a VPN.
- Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) - Windows Mobile device connections to an Exchange Client Access Server (CAS).
Configuration Settings
- MAPI - outlook.mail.ufl.edu - mail server for campus workstation, cached mode should be used.
- IMAP - imap.mail.ufl.edu - for incoming mail server for on campus workstation, requires SSL authentication.
- SMTP - smtp.ufl.edu - for outgoing mail server on or off campus workstation, requires SSL authentication.
- Outlook Web Access (OWA) - www.mail.ufl.edu
- Outlook Anywhere - outlook.mail.ufl.edu - for mail server when remote without VPN, cached mode should be used. - Proxy Server - https://mail.ufl.edu - SSL Principle Name - msstd:mail.ufl.edu
- EAS - mail.ufl.edu
- spam.mail.ufl.edu - access Proofpoint spam filter controls
- autodiscover.mail.ufl.edu - Exchange discovery services
