E-mail Configuration for Palm Treo Versamail
Step 1:
Select the Versamail icon on your Palm Start Screen
Step 2:
Versamail will open up. Click Next
Step 3:
After clicking New, a toolbar will appear at the top of your Palm device. Select Accounts and scoll down to Account Setup
Step 4:
Within the Account Setup menu, select New
Step 5:
A message will then pop up informing you that an initial setup is about to be performed on your device. Click Continue
Step 6:
The Account Setup menu will then ask you to enter the following information:
Account Name: UFL (Suggested)
Mail Service: IMAP
Protocol: IMAP
Click Next.
Step 7:
You will now be prompted for your GatorLink username and password.
Username: Your GatorLink username
Password: Your GatorLink password
Click Next.
Step 8:
You will then be prompted to enter your incoming/outgoing mail server settings:
Email Address: Your GatorLink e-mail address (i.e: alegator@ufl.edu)
Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.ufl.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mail.ufl.edu
Click Next
Step 9:
Once the basic setup has been completed, you will see the following screen. Do NOT click 'Done', but click Advanced to finish your e-mail setup.
Step 10:
Within the First Advanced options screen, you will need to enter the correct Port Number and proper Secure Connection settings for the incoming server settings.
Port Number: 993
Check the box for 'Use Secure Connection (SSL)'
Click Next
Step 11:
Within the second Advanced Options screen, you will need to enter the correct Port Number and proper Authentication for the outgoing server settings.
Port Number: 25
Check the box 'Use Authentication (ESMTP)'
Click Next
Step 12:
If all setup steps were properly configured, your account will begin to synchronize with UF Exchange. Please note that this process may take up to 15 minutes.
