E-mail Configuration for Vista Windows Mail


Required: An E-mail account should aready be created on the Exchange Server, a wired Internet connection on campus or VPN with ufw.

Basic settings: mail.ufl.edu for the incoming and outgoing server address

Step 1:
Click on the Mail icon on the Programs List or type "winmail" at the search/run bar

Step 2:
If Mail has an account setup prior, please use Tools> Accounts >Add to get the setup windows to show
Step 3:
Select "E-mail Account"

Step 4:
Enter Full Name, Click Next

Step 5:
Enter Email address and click Next
 
Step 6:
Select IMAP, and type in mail.ufl.edu for the IMAP server and SMTP server name.

Step 7:
Verify Username and Enter Password

Step 8:
Click Finish

Step 9:
Wait for all folders to download


Step 10:
If the connection does not work, go to Tools > Accounts > Properties


Step 10:
Make sure you have correctly typed the password


Step 11:
You need to check "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both servers under the Advanced Tab.
