Connecting to Email Applications
This site contains GatorMail configuration settings for different email clients. Please review these instructions carefully. If you need assistance configuring your email client, please contact your local IT support or the UFIT Help Desk (352-392-4357, helpdesk@ufl.edu).
1. Open the Office365 Outlook app, navigate to File > Add Account, enter your GatorLink email address username@ufl.edu and click Connect.
2. Enter the following information and click Sign In:
- Username: GatorLink username
- Password: GatorLink password
3. Select your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
4. Ensure Allow my organization to manage my device is unchecked and click OK.
5. Click Done.
6. Optionally, uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too and click Done.
7. Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the Office365 Outlook app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email.
The initial synchronization process can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data on account.
Before proceeding ensure any previous instance(s) of the account to be added are removed. See: Remove or delete an email account from Outlook
1. Open the Office365 Outlook app, navigate to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > Add Email Account, enter your GatorLink email address username@ufl.edu and click Continue.
2. Enter the following information and click LOGIN:
- Username: GatorLink username
- Password: GatorLink password
3. Select your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
4. Click Done.
5. Click Personalize Now.
6. Click Finish Later to complete setup or, optionally, click Continue to Personalize your Outlook experience.
7. Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the Office365 Outlook app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email.
The initial synchronization process can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data on account.
Before proceeding ensure any previous instance(s) of the account to be added are removed. See: Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac
1. Open the macOS Mail app and navigate to Mail > Add Account.... Select Microsoft Exchange from the list of available options and click Continue.
2. Enter the following information and click Sign In:
- Name: Name
- Email address: GatorLink username@ufl.edu
3. Click Sign In.
4. Enter the following and click LOGIN:
- Username: Gatorlink username
- Password: Gatorlink password
5. Select your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
6. Click Accept.
7. Ensure at minimum Mail is checked and click Done.
8. Select your Mail Privacy Protection preference and click Continue.
9. Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the macOS Mail app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email.
The initial synchronization process can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data on account.
* iOS 11 or later, iPadOS 13.1 or later, and macOS 10.14 or later support Microsoft Modern Authentication workflows of Exchange online tenants.
Before proceeding ensure any previous instance(s) of the account to be added are removed. See: How do I remove my email account?
1. Open the Outlook app, navigate to Menu > Settings > Add Mail Account, and tap ADD ACCOUNT.
2. Enter your GatorLink username@ufl.edu and tap CONTINUE.
3. Enter the following and tap LOGIN:
- Username: Gatorlink username
- Password: Gatorlink password
4. Tap your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
5. Tap MAYBE LATER.
6. Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the Microsoft Outlook app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email and calendar.
The initial synchronization process can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data on account.
Before proceeding ensure any previous instance(s) of the account to be added are removed. See: Remove a Google or other account from your phone
1. Open the Gmail app and navigate to Menu > Settings > Add Account and tap Exchange and Office 365.
2. Enter your GatorLink username@ufl.edu and tap Next.
3. Enter the following and tap LOGIN:
- Username: Gatorlink username
- Password: Gatorlink password
4. Tap your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
5. Tap Accept.
6. Tap Done.
7. Switch the newly added UF account by tapping your profile image or initial on the top right, followed by the newly listed username@ufl.edu account.
8) Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the Gmail app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email and calendar.

1. Open the iOS Mail app and select Microsoft Exchange from the list of available options to begin account setup.
Note: If not opening the iOS Mail app for the first time, navigate to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
2. Enter the following and tap Next:
- Email: username@ufl.edu
- Description: (optional)
3. Tap Sign In.
4. Enter the following and tap LOGIN:
- Username: Gatorlink username
- Password: Gatorlink password
5. Tap your preferred method of two-factor (2FA) login authentication and, utilizing your 2FA registered device, authenticate your login (e.g. Send Me a Push).
6. Tap Accept.
7. Ensure at minimum Mail is toggled on and tap Save.
8. Select your Mail Privacy Protection preference and tap Continue.
9. Successful completion of your GatorMail account setup will result in the iOS Mail app synchronizing with and displaying your GatorMail email.
The initial synchronization process can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data on account.
